Injury to Babies

Our Solicitors have successfully handled many birth injury claims. One of the most common injuries caused by birth-related clinical negligence is cerebral palsy. In most cases, the causes of cerebral palsy happen before birth. However, around 20% of children with cerebral palsy develop the disorder as a result of damage to their brain during the delivery process.

A lack of sufficient oxygen causes damage to the brain and may result in the baby having physical or intellectual (often both) disability. Caring for a child with a disability can be extremely challenging for the parents and other family members.

Our Solicitors can work with you to establish what happened during the delivery process and whether the treatment received was negligent.

Where possible we will try and secure an early payment of compensation, known as an interim payment, to cover the expense of any professional care, rehabilitation, equipment and adaptations to accommodation to ensure the needs of the parents and child are met.
